Although the U.S. Constitution guarantees that the government will neither promote nor interfere with religious belief, some abstinence-only-until-marriage programs violate this core freedom by using public dollars to convey overt religious messages or to impose religious viewpoints. End Misuse of Taxpayer Dollars in Trafficking Victims' Program
Since 2006, the Department of Health and Human Services has allowed the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to limit, based on its religious beliefs, the services trafficking victims receive with federal funds.
